Working indicators, stop lamp, number plate back and front, speedo (not working), driver's licence and rego, seat... lets roll!
First wash out of the way, so a few photos are now permissable. A little pressure needed to be applied to c-room to get the cuci done tho- it was 4 O'clock but they couldnt accept my bike 'cause they were closing (they close at 5), I had none of that nonsense and the bike got wahsed and wax. Now just need a seat, next Saturday apparently.
Got a call today saying the body work was done, my mate Rowi from his Dalung shop dropped it round around sunset time. After a kopi and some nongkrong the sun had set leaving us in darkness. Having not washed the bike in over a month it's gotten quite dirty, that combined with dim lighting made for some poor photography. The body work looks good tho, so not to tarnish the image of the bike, I am releasing just one shot until it gets a proper polish and its custom seat installed. Left to right: tank, rear mud guard, the bikes box-tail, front mud guard. Epoxy'd and awaiting shiny racing paint
Ok, good to see there's some interested punters still out there, unfortunately "La Nina" is worded to be with us agin for the long haul this season and all that raining is slowing my paint progress down to all but a halt. Going for the cheap "ghetto bengkel" option, I don't have the luxury of a "cat oven" so we're at the mercy of the elements here folks. Like I said, taking the nikon into the bengkel would be commiting negosiasi suicide so here are some dim, blurry handfone shots... This first one is of the tank awaiting its racing paint, which will make the bike go faster Ok, so disregard the last prematurely enthusiastic post, it HAD long been the plan to plaster the body work of the bike with the colourful array of parking tickets below, finished in a thick gloss, but that has since given way to a black/ocean-blue/red 80's racing style theme. Pics have been few'n'far between as didnt wanna take the nikon into the body shop whilst still in the negosiasi phases. Prices firmly established now and paint and body progress well under way, I think i'll take some dimly-lit snaps tomorow, just to keep the punters interested (if there are any!) in the old NeoTech1600!
Thought it was time to clean out the Isuzu's glove box and sort these out. A bulging wad of beach entry parking tickets covering the north, east, south and west of Bali. About 150 of 'em in total. Their application to this modif project is still brewing in my head, but coming together slowly. They form a pretty good representation of my surf habits, Batu Mejan Canggu narrowly edged out its sister beach Batu Bolong to take "most frequented" tallying 40 tickets to Batu Bolong's 38! Finally got the bike into the "chop shop". Wanted to drop it in before chrissy when I was in oz, but he was jam packed with orders. Well, he still is, it's gonna take around 20 days to get it back! Doh! At least it's in there and he lives nearby so I can regularly get on his case. As the parts get done I'll pick them up and work on paint etc. Back to the ol' yellow bebek for a while then. Work at the shop will include: - Metal front and rear guards, long enough to actually be functional - Lengthen side stand so bike doesn't lean so much with added height when parked - New box-shaped tail at rear of seat area - Mountig bracket for my new RX-King headlamp - Side panel guards to protect battery and air filter, flared on the right hand side to accomodate air filter, flat on the left - Cutting off the rear pegs and helmet locks With proper size mud guards and side panels this bike will be rain ready and perhaps most importantly, will be able to be washed at the local "cuci motor" without risk of the high pressure hose blasting everyhing (I hate washing my bike myself...) |

Enough modif for now, let's just ride these bad boys for a while. I need to start surfing again! Archives
